Diplomate of National Board Examination


DNB stands for Diplomate of National Board.

The National Board of Examinations is an autonomous body established by the ministry of health and family welfare, primarily to conduct postgraduate and higher examinations in various disciplines of medical sciences of high and uniform standard at the national level.

Successful candidates are awarded 'Diplomate of National Board,' which is recognized as equivalent to postgraduate (MD/MS in broad specialities) and postdoctoral (DM/MCH in higher specialities) degree qualifications of Indian universities and included in the First Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

2005 June Exam

Date of submission of application form for :
i)Theory Examination    (a) Without late fee : 21 st March, 2005    (b) With late fee : 31st March, 2005
ii)Practical Examinations : Last dates for applying for only practical (2nd & 3rd attempt) examinations are the same as above

Dates of theory examination Timings 
FINAL : Saturday the 11th June, 2005 09.30 - 12.30 : 14.00 – 17.00; Sunday the 12th June, 2005 09.30 - 12.30 : 14.00 – 17.00
CET-NBE : Sunday the 12th June, 2005 09.30 - 12.30 : 14.00 – 17.00

NOTE :
i) No application will be entertained under any circumstances after the stipulated date.
ii) Incomplete applications or applications not in accordance with instructions, will not be considered. In such cases the examination fee will not be refunded.

3. Application can be downloaded from internet www.natboard.nic.in. The examination fee should include Rs.500/- extra on account of such downloaded application forms.

4. Instructions in the bulletin are liable to changes based on decisions taken in the Governing Body from time to time. However candidates will be governed by the Information of Bulletin vide which they were registered for determining the eligibility. So far the theory & practical examinations are concerned they will be governed by the information bulletin vide which they applying for the theory examinations.

5. Fees once paid will neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances.

6. Request will not be entertained for changes in date/center for theory and practical examinations under any circumstances.

7. Application of candidates producing false or fabricated records will not be considered. Such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in future examinations of the Board.

8. Quote applications form number and subject of examinations for your query. Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will only be entertained if the information requested is not given in bulletin or on website www.natboard.nic.in 

9. Candidates should keep a photocopy of the application and other documents sent to Board’s office.

10. NBE reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the CET/Final Examinations even though the admit card/roll number has been issued.

11. Candidates should ensure before applying for the registration that their MBBS/MD/MS/Diploma is recognized by MCI/University. If it is found at any time that the Degree/Diploma is not recognized by MCI/University then the NBE will have the right to cancel the registration.

12. The jurisdiction for court cases shall be in Delhi in the Delhi High Court.

Fee Structure
3.1 The fee is payable only through a bank draft issued from Nationalized Bank mentioned with code Numbers given in the this bulletin and drawn in favour of National Board of Examinations payable at New Delhi, along with the applications by the stipulated dates.

3.2
(A) Registration Fee- Rs. 450/-  (to be remitted alongwith Exam Fee both by CET and MD/MS/DM/Mch/Post Diploma-DNB Final candidates)
(B) Examination Fee
i) CET Exam Rs. 2500/-
ii) Final Exam (Theory & Practical) Rs. 3000/-
iii) Practical Only Rs. 3000/-
iv) Late Fee Rs. 500/-
v) Thesis Fee Rs. 1500/-
(To be remitted at the time of Thesis submission)
(C) Additional fee for London Centre Rs.2500/-
(D) Enrolment Fee Rs.1000/-
(Within 2 months of passing the final Examination (for the award of Board’s degrees)
(E) Inabsentia fee – Rs. 500/- (to be paid for the award of Board’s degree in absentia.)

3.3 Absentees from the examination will forfeit their examination fee.
