Degree & Diploma Medical Entrance Examinations (Other than MD / MS)

Applications are invited from intending candidates for admission to the following courses conducted by the All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health (AIIH & PH), 110, Chittaranjan Avenue, Kolkata - 700073.

  1. Diploma in Public Health (D.P.H), Diploma in Maternity & Child Welfare (D.M.C.W.) and Diploma in Industrial Health (D.I.H)
  2. Diploma in Health Education (D.H.E)
  3. Diploma in Dietetics (Dip. Diet)
  4. Diploma in Health Statistics (D.H.S)
  • Dates -
     
    Commencment of Course The course in DPH, D.M.C.W. & D.I.H. will commence from 01/05/2004 and those on M.E. (P.H), Dip Diet, D.H.E & D.H.S. from 01/07/2004
    Entrance Test Date The admission test for the course of D.P.H, D.I.H. and D.M.C.W. will be held on 11/04/2004 and that for Dip Diet, D.H.E. and D.H.S. will be held on 06/06/2004
    Last Date Last date of receipt of complete application forms by the university is 22.03.2004 (Monday)


     

  • Application forms -
    • Separate application forms need to be submitted for each of following -
      1. DPH, DIH & DMCW
      2. DHE
      3. Dip. Diet
      4. DHS
      Candidates will be able to appear in all the above four separately, if they fill up separate form for each of the four
       
    • A crossed demand draft worth Rs. 400/- in favour of "West Bengal University of Health Sciences" payable at Kolkata must be enclosed with each application.
       
    • Application forms and detailed information can be download from the website http://www.wbuhs.org
       
  • Format of Entrance Test -
    • The question papers will be in English and shall contain 100 single response type Multiple Choice Questions relevant for the concerned Diploma course.
    • For each correct response, 3 marks will be awarded. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No mark will be deducted for questions not attempted. More than a single response to any question will be treated as incorrect response.
    • Duration of each written test will be 90 minutes.
    • General and Physically Handicapped candidates securing 150 marks and SC & ST candidates securing 120 marks in the written test will qualify for empanelment for admission.
       
  • Course Details (Duration of Course & Eligibility Criteria) -
    Diploma in Public Health (D.P.H) Diploma in Maternity & Child Welfare (D.M.C.W.) and Diploma in Industrial Health (D.I.H)
    Duration of each course is 2 academic years.
    Eligibility criteria: Medical graduates (MBBS) of any University recognized by the University of Calcutta and registered with the State Medical Council / MCI and having completed one year's compulsory rotatory internship subsequent to passing in M.B.B.S. Examination.

    Government Organisation would get priority in the matter of admission to the course.
    Sponsored candidiates as mentioned in application form should collect application forms and submit them to the Adivsor, C.P.H.E.E.O, Ministry of Urban development and Poverty Alleviation, Government of India, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi -110011.

    Nonsponsored private candidates who have qualified in the GATE examination and non-Governmental sponsored candidates may also collect the application forms from and submit them to the Director, All India Institute of Hygience and Public Health, Kolkata. Government / Semi-Government sponsored outstation candidates approved by C.P.H.E.E.O, Ministry of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, Government of India are likely to get a stipend of Rs. 2,000/- per mensum from C.P.H.E.E.O. There is no provision for stipend for non-governmental sponsored candidates.

    Diploma in Dietetics:
    Duration - 1 academic year
    Eligibility criteria:
    (i) Medical Graduates (MBBS / BHMS) of any University recognised by the University of Calcutta and registered with the respective council or
    (ii) University degree with Physiology or Chemistry or Clinical Nutrition with Dietetics as one of the subjects or
    (iii) Degree in Home Science or Nursing from a recognised Institution or University

    Diploma in Health Education (D.H.E):
    Duration - 1 academic year
    Eligiblity criteria: Medical Graduates (MBBS / BHMS) of any University recognised by the University of Calcutta and registered with the respective council or Bachelor degree in Arts, Science, Education or Nursing from any recognised University.

    Diploma in Health Statistics (D.H.S):
    Duration - 1 academic year
    Eligiblity criteria: Medical Graduates (MBBS / BHMS) of any University recognised by the University of Calcutta and registered with the respective council or candidates, who have passed the B.A or B.Sc. Examination with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognised University.
