Application for DNB Studies - 2004

Jagjavinram Hospital, Western Railway, Mumbai Central (Headquater Hospital of Western Railway) invites applications from eligible candidates for DNB studies in the following subjects: A) General Medicine: 02 seats B) General Surgery: 02 posts C) Gastroenterology: 02 posts D) Surgical Gastroenterology (GI surgery): 01 posts

Eligibility:
A) For DNB Medicine/ Surgery: (1) Should have passed the CET-NBE in January 2004 session OR (2) Should have passed primary examination before January 2004 and still continues to be eligible according to then existing criteria of 3 years (6 academic sessions)
B) For Superspecialities: (1) Should be a Postgraduate in General Medicine / Paediatrics - for DNB Gastroenterology (2) Should be a Postgraduate in General Surgery - for DNB Surgical Gastroenterology

Duration of Training: 3 years

Method of Selection:
A) For DNB Medicine / Surgery: The latest guidelines regarding the New Admission Procedure laid down by the National Board of Examinations in December 2003 will be followed. Applicants shall be called for the "APTITUDE TEST" as laid down by the NBE
B) For DNB Gastroenterology / GI Surgery: There will be a written examination consisting of one paper of objective type questions (of Postgraduate standard) related to the subject applied for. The written examination will be of one hour duration. This will be followed by an interview

Remuneration: The selected candidates will be initially appointed against non-stipendary house officer's posts till stipendary posts in the subject concerned become available

Accommodation: Free furnished hostel type austerity accomodation will be provided (on a sharing basis)

Willing candidates should apply on the prescribed application forms to THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR, JAGJIVANRAM HOSPITAL, WESTERN RAILWAY, Marathi Mandir Marg, Mumbai Central, Mumbai, 400008. The application forms will be available in J.R. Hospital Office from 06/01/2004 to 14/01/2004 during working hours on payment of Rs. 100/- in cash.

The completed forms should reach the hospital office latest by 16.00 hours of 15/01/2004. Applications received after the stipulated dated and time shall not be considered. The hospital will not be responsible for any postal/ courier delay. Serving Medical Officers in Railways/Government organizations/Public Sector undertakings, etc, should apply through proper channel. All envelops containing completed applications should be superscribed :APPLICATION FOR DNB ... (Subject) - 2004"

Written examination for Gasteroenterology and GI Surgery will be held on 19/01/2004 at 10.00 hours in JR Hospital followed by interview on the same day at 14.00 hours.
For DNB Medicine & Surgery courses, the "APTITUDE TEST" will be held on 20/01/2004 from 10.00 hours onwards.

VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES OF THE CANDIDATES WILL BE DONE AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW / APTITUDE TEST

Note:
A) Candidates are not entitled to passes/ remuneration to attend the examination/interview.
B) No separate intimation will be given to the candidate for the examination / interview/ selection results, etc
C) Applications made in response to this advertisement only will be considered.
