  • Eligibility -
    (a) Academic-
    Applicants should have passed the MBBS Degree of Kerala/ Calicut/ Mahatma Gandhi University or of any other University recognized by the Kerala/ Calicut/ Mahatma Gandhi University as equivalent thereto with eligibility for full registration in respect of all courses. Applicants who will complete Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship (C.R.R.I.) on or before 31.12..2003 are eligible to apply for the examination, but admission to the candidates will be given only after obtaining registration of T.C. Medical Council.
    (b) Nativity-
    Only Indian Citizens of Kerala origin are eligible to apply for P.G. Course. Nativity certificate shall be obtained from Tahsildars / Village Officers of Kerala State. The Certificate in the body of the application form itself shall be submitted. Other certificates are not acceptable and applications will be rejected in such cases.
    Note:-For applicants who have undergone M.B.B.S. course in the Medical Colleges of Kerala, a Certificate stipulating the above condition of nativity from the Principal of the Medical Colleges, where he/she has studied will be accepted.
    (c) Age-
    Upper age limit for general merit candidates will be 45 years as on 31-12-2003.
    For service candidates, upper age limit will be 47 years for Post Graduate Degree Courses and 48 years for Post Graduate Diploma Courses as on 31-12-2003.
     
  • Duration of course -
    The duration of the course including University Examination is 3 years in the case of Degree Course and 2 years in the case of Diploma Course. There shall be an exemption of one year in the duration of PG degree course in respect of candidates who have done P.G. Diploma course of two years and awarded Diploma in the same subject. The candidates must have acquired the P.G. Diploma pass certificate on or before 31st December 2003 for being eligible for the course reduction. No other reduction in the duration of the course shall generally be granted.
     
  • Fees -
    Annual Tuition fee -
                 Degree Course          Rs. 16,500 per annum
                 Diploma Course        Rs. 13,750 per annum
    Miscellaneous fee                 Rs.      500
    University Registration fee  Rs.      500
    Van fee                                    Rs.   1,000 per annum
    Caution Deposit                    Rs    1,000 (for recovery towards loss or breakage of Laboratory equipment, books etc)

    Note:- The fees once remitted except caution deposit will not be refunded under any circumstances. However if a candidate changes over from one course to another in the same college from the same rank list the fees paid for the original course will be adjusted to the new course. Movement from one college to another either by reallotment
    or to join for a higher option in the same rank list will however entail the payment of all fees except the tuition fees. The above rule will also apply to shifting of from All India Quota candidates within the State.

    It will consist of two papers, each of two hours duration and having 150 objective type (Multiple Choices) questions each.
     
  • Application forms - (Application forms download from http://www.cee-kerala.org/pgmedical.htm )
    Prospectus and application form will be available from 04-02-2004 in the official Website of the CEE at ‘cee-kerala.org”.
    Different application forms have been prescribed for General and Service candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the prescribed format (General or Service, as applicable), after downloading it, along with necessary documents and a Demand Draft for Rs. 800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only), drawn on SBT/SBI, in favor of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
    Application forms will not be sold from this Office or from the office of the DME.
    Application fees once remitted will not be refunded on any account.
     
  • Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms - Candidates including Service candidates seeking admission should forward their completed application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post or hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on Wednesday, 3rd March, 2004. However, Service candidates should send a copy of their Application Form, along with copies of all required documents to their Controlling Officer also. Late applications including those brought after 5 PM on 03-03-2004 will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to apply for the examination well in advance. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the Application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be
    considered under any circumstances. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish a Rank list of General candidates based on merit as
    assessed at the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. A list of Service candidates, who qualify, in the entrance examination will also be prepared and forwarded to the DME. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the Director of Medical Education, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government.
