in a 3 X 4 contingency table, the no of degrees of freedom is 1, 4, 6, 12...how to get the answer??i calculated it to be 36!!!!!!

Degrees of freedom = df = (r - 1)X(c - 1) where r = number of rows and c = number of columns in the contingency table.

So here it is (3-1)X (4-1)= 2X3 = 6

Ans given is C..comments..Confused

Conference:
