A 30 years Old man was admitted in the Medical wards with complaint of Fever .Blood reports showed that he had Dengue fever with Anemia and Thrombocytopenia .Hence he was infused with 1 unit of blood after some time he suddenly started fealing very weak .Hence ward Nurse went to check the BP .She told the BP as 90/60 and soon the Patient started flexing the Hand with fingers kept in extension .He also twisted his mouth .Soon the Doctor gave an injcetion IV and then the everything became normal .what could be the injection
1.adrenaline
2.Calmpose
3.eptoin
4.Calcium Gluconate

The answer is Calcium Gluconate .Here the catching point is the pateint has a Trousseaus sign positice that is carpopedal spasm with BP cuff aplication to the ARM .Hence Doctor rightly gave IV Calcium gluconate

This is Medicine dear Vicky When you are on call the patient right in front of you it is only few minutes you have to think and act all nurses ,ward boys ,pateint s relatives will stand and watch what are you doing there .It is really once you do it you will love it
